STUCK IN MEMORY

The Bishop is a figure of thought. It moves diagonally, never in straight lines—its path bound by calculation, precision, and foresight. In this work, the stag embodies that role: a creature caught between past sacrifice and the uncertain terrain of what lies ahead.
At night, when silence sharpens memory, the Bishop replays each decision, each move that cannot be undone. Regret tempts, but turning back is impossible. The only way forward is through integrity—through choices that redeem the cost of sacrifice already made.

Stuck in Memory captures this suspended state: the tension between reflection and progression, between the weight of past mistakes and the necessity of continuing forward. The stag’s antlers reach upward like branching thoughts, carrying the burden of contemplation, yet its body remains poised to advance.
It is a portrait of responsibility—a reminder that memory can haunt, but it must also guide.
